Paying your water bill is an essential responsibility for all residents and businesses in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The City of Goldsboro provides water service to over 37,000 residents, so ensuring bills are paid properly and on time is crucial for maintaining operations. In this article, we’ll explain everything you need to know about paying your Goldsboro water bill, including how to pay, payment options, due dates, and more.
Overview of Goldsboro Water Bills
The City of Goldsboro bills for water service every month. Bills are typically sent out around the 25th of each month, and payments are due by the 10th of the following month. So for example you’ll receive your July bill in late June which will be due by July 10th.
Water bills in Goldsboro have two main components – a fixed monthly charge and a variable charge based on your water usage. The fixed charge covers infrastructure and administrative costs. The variable charge depends on how much water you use each month as measured by your water meter. Rates are tiered so the more you use, the higher the rate per unit.
In addition to these charges, your bill may include other fees like sewer service, trash pickup, stormwater charges, etc. The overall amount due will be itemized on your monthly statement.

When is My Water Bill Due?
Water bills in Goldsboro are due on the 10th of each month. For example:
- January bill: Due February 10th
- February bill: Due March 10th
- March bill: Due April 10th
And so on. Your due date will always be clearly printed on your monthly statement.
Payments received after the 10th are considered late and will incur a 10% late penalty. Late notices are sent to severely delinquent accounts, and service may ultimately be disconnected for non-payment. So be sure to pay your bill on time every month!
