Paying your utility bill to the City of Prineville just got a whole lot easier thanks to their online payment system. As a Prineville resident I was thrilled when the city launched this new option for paying our water, sewer and other city bills. No more writing and mailing checks or driving downtown to pay in person. Now I can pay all my city utility bills securely online from the comfort of home in just a few minutes.
In this article, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know to pay your City of Prineville utility bill online. We’ll cover creating an account, adding your utility accounts to the system, setting up autopay if desired, and manually making one-time payments. Let’s get started!
Creating Your Online Account
The first step to paying your bills online is to create an account on the City of Prineville’s online payment system. This is done through their third-party provider, Municipal Online Payments.
To create your account go to https //prinevilleor.municipalonlinepayments.com/prinevilleor/utilities and click “Sign In/Register” in the top right corner. On the next screen, click the “Create an Account” button.
You’ll be asked to enter your name, email address, and create a password. Make sure you choose a strong password. Once your account is created, you can start adding your City of Prineville accounts.
Adding Your Utility Accounts
Now it’s time to link your actual City of Prineville utility accounts to your online payment account. You can add as many accounts as you need to the system.
To add an account, sign into your newly created account. On the left side, click “Manage Accounts.” Next, click the blue “+ Add New Account” button.
You’ll need to enter some details about the account you want to add, including:
- The service address
- Account number
- Name on the account
- Phone number on the account
Enter the details carefully to make sure the account syncs up properly. Once added, you should see your new utility account on the Manage Accounts page. Repeat this process to add additional accounts as needed.
Setting Up AutoPay
One of the best features of the online payment system is the ability to enroll in autopay. With autopay enabled, your bill will be paid automatically each month on the due date using your default credit card or bank account.
To set up autopay, go to “My Profile” then click “AutoPay Accounts.” Next to the account you want to enroll, click “Add AutoPay.” Select the payment method you want to use from your stored payment accounts.
That’s it! The system will now automatically pay that utility account for you monthly. It’s one less bill you have to worry about.
Making One-Time Payments
If you don’t want to enroll in autopay, you can still make one-time payments through the online system as needed.
To make a one-time payment, first select the account you want to pay from the account list. On the account details screen, click “Make Payment” then enter the payment amount. Select your payment method and complete the transaction.
The online system also allows you to view payment history, set up reminders, store payment methods, and more. Take some time to explore all the features.
Payment Methods Accepted
The City of Prineville accepts the following payment methods for online payments:
- Credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express
- Debit cards: Must have a Visa or Mastercard logo
- eChecks: Use your routing and account number
There are no fees for making online payments through the system. You can store payment methods in your account for future use.
Getting Help with the Online System
Using the online payment system should be simple and straightforward. But if you ever need help or have questions, customer support is available.
You can call the City of Prineville utility billing department at (541) 447-5627 for assistance with your accounts and online payments.
For help with the actual online system and website, there is 24/7 support available. Click the “Customer Service” link at the bottom of the site and complete the email form. A customer service rep will respond quickly to help troubleshoot any issues.
