As a resident of College Station for over 5 years now, I’ve learned to navigate the local utility billing system to pay my electric, water, sewer, and garbage collection bills on time each month. College Station Utilities (CSU) makes paying your utility bill convenient through multiple options including online, by phone, by mail, or in person.
This detailed guide will show you all the ways you can pay your CSU bill and handle your account, based on my own experience as a homeowner in College Station and a utility customer.
Online Account Access
On-line customer portal at CSU is the best and easiest way to pay your bill. cstx. gov. Here are the steps to access your account online:
- Visit CSU.cstx.gov and click “Pay My Bill”
- Register for an account if you don’t already have one
- Log in with your email and password
- Select your account and click “Make Payment”
Online you can view your bill see payment history, set up recurring auto-pay, and make one-time payments via credit/debit card or electronic check. I like paying online because it’s fast secure, and gives 24/7 account access.
Pay By Phone
It’s also easy to pay your CSU bill over the phone; just call 979-764-3535. The automated system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Or you can speak to a customer service representative Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
To pay by phone
- Call 979-764-3535
- Select the “Pay Bill” option and follow prompts
- Enter your 10-digit CSU account number
- Use credit/debit card or electronic check
The phone system is easy to use and good for quick one-time payments when you don’t need full account access.
Pay By Mail
To pay your CSU bill by mail, write your 10-digit account number on your check or money order payable to City of College Station. Send your mailed payment to:
City of College Station
PO Box 10230
College Station, TX 77842
Be sure to mail your payment at least 5 business days before the due date to ensure it’s received on time. I only use mail payment as a backup option if I miss paying online.
Pay In Person
You can also pay your utility bill in person at the CSU office located at:
310 Krenek Tap Road
College Station, TX 77840
Their office is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. When paying in person you can use cash, check, money order or credit/debit card.
I’ll sometimes stop by the office if I have account issues to discuss or need same day payment confirmation.
Authorized Payment Locations
For added convenience, CSU has partnered with authorized bill payment locations including:
- H-E-B Grocery Stores
- CS First National Bank
- BBVA Compass Bank
- Extraco Banks
- Plains Capital Bank
- Kroger Grocery Stores
You can pay your utility bill at any checkout register in these locations with cash, check, or payment card just by providing your 10-digit CSU account number.
This gives more options if you prefer paying in person rather than online or by mail.
Auto Pay
The easiest way to stay on top of payments is to enroll in automatic payments through your online CSU account. This securely stores your payment info to process recurring payments on your bill’s due date each month.
With Auto Pay, your bill gets paid on time without you having to remember to pay manually. I have peace of mind knowing it’s handled automatically. You can cancel Auto Pay anytime if you want to switch back to manual payments.
CSU Mobile App
CSU offers a mobile app for iPhone and Android so you can view billing information and make quick payments on the go. The key features include:
- View account balance
- Access billing history
- Receive notifications
- Pay bills via stored payment method
- View payment receipts
Avoid Late Fees
Be sure to pay your CSU bill by the due date each month to avoid late payment fees. With multiple easy payment options, there’s no reason to ever miss a payment deadline.
I highly recommend setting up Auto Pay or calendar reminders so your electric, water, sewer, and garbage bills get paid on time every month. Avoiding late fees will maintain your utility services and credit standing with CSU.
As a College Station resident, I appreciate how simple CSU makes paying your utilities through online, phone, mail, in-person, and automatic payment setups. Choose the option that best fits your needs to pay your monthly bill quickly and conveniently.
