Convenient Ways to Pay Your Farmers Electric Coop Bill

Paying your monthly electric bill to Farmers Electric Cooperative doesn’t have to be a hassle Farmers EC offers their members a variety of convenient payment options to choose from In this article, I’ll go over the different ways you can pay your Farmers EC bill, including online, over the phone, in person, and automatic payments.

Pay Online with SmartHub

The easiest way for Farmers EC members to pay their bill is through SmartHub, the online account management system. With SmartHub, you can monitor your energy usage, track your payment history, set up automatic payments, and more

To start using SmartHub, go to https://farmerselectric. coop/smarthub/ and either sign in to an existing account or use your Farmers EC account number to create a new SmartHub account.

When you log in to SmartHub, you can see your bill, check your account balance, and pay your bill. All major credit cards, debit cards, and electronic checks can be used to pay your bill. When you pay with SmartHub, the money goes straight into your account within one business day.

SmartHub is my favorite way to pay my bill because it’s quick, safe, and I don’t have to mail a check every month. SmartHub lets me set up recurring automatic payments, so my bill is always paid on time, even if I forget. The mobile app also makes it easy to pay on the go.

Pay Online Without Registration

If you want to make a quick online payment without signing up for SmartHub, Farmers EC offers a payment-only option called Pay Now. Just go to https://farmerselectric.coop/smarthub/ and click on the Pay Now button.

You’ll need your Farmers EC account number and last name or business name. Pay Now allows you to pay by credit card, debit card, or electronic check without having to register for an account. However, you won’t be able to view usage data or manage notifications through Pay Now.

Pay by Phone

Farmers EC offers a toll-free automated phone payment system that’s available 24/7. Just call 1-877-495-6841 and follow the prompts to make a payment by credit card or electronic check over the phone.

Paying by phone is quick and convenient. It’s also the fastest way to restore service if your power has been disconnected for non-payment. As soon as Farmers EC processes your phone payment, your service can be reconnected.

Pay by Mail

If you prefer to pay your bill by mail, you can send a check or money order to:

Farmers Electric Cooperative
P.O. Box 5800

Just make sure to allow enough time for your payment to reach Farmers EC by the due date on your bill. I recommend mailing your payment at least 5-7 days before the due date.

Pay in Person

You can drop off a payment in person at any of Farmers EC’s three office locations. Each office has a drive-through window with a drop box where you can leave a check or money order. The office staff can also process payments by credit card or cash at the counter.

Here are the addresses for Farmers EC’s office locations:

To pay at a MoneyGram location, fill out an ExpressPayment form with your account details. At Fidelity Express, the clerk will scan your bill stub. For Western Union, provide your account number and payment amount.

Payments made through these services before 2pm on a business day are credited to your Farmers EC account the same day.

Enroll in Auto Pay

One of the easiest ways to avoid late payments is to enroll in Farmers EC’s automatic payment program, Auto Pay. This free service automatically deducts your monthly bill amount from your checking or savings account around the due date.

To sign up, complete and submit the Auto Pay application form found at https://farmerselectric.coop/payment-methods/. You’ll need to include a voided check. Once enrolled, you’ll still receive a monthly statement for your records but you don’t have to worry about making manual payments.

You can also set up automatic recurring credit card payments through SmartHub. Just log into your account and enter your card details under “My Profile”.

Take Advantage of Payment Assistance Programs

If you’re experiencing financial hardship and are struggling to pay your Farmers EC bill, payment assistance may be available. Farmers EC partners with local charities and agencies that provide bill payment assistance to those in need.

To find out if you qualify, contact Farmers EC before your termination notice due date. You can also reach out directly to assistance organizations like the Salvation Army, Community Services of Northeast Texas, and others. They can help you apply for grants or arrange payment plans.
