Fort Bend MUD 2 provides water and sewer services to residents in parts of Sugar Land, Texas. As a customer, you are responsible for paying your monthly water bill to maintain service Fort Bend MUD 2 contracts with Municipal District Services (MDS) to handle billing and payment processing

Online Bill Pay
The easiest way to pay your Fort Bend MUD 2 water bill is online through MDS You can either pay as a guest or register your account to access advanced features,
To pay online:
- Go to MDS online payment portal
- Select “Pay My Bill”
- Enter your account number and last name or address
- Choose to pay as a guest or click “Register” to create an account
- Enter payment details and submit
When you sign up for an account, you can see your past bills, set up automatic payments, and get e-bills instead of paper bills.
Online payments can be made with Visa, Mastercard, or Discover debit/credit cards or via eCheck. There is a $3.50 convenience fee per transaction for credit/debit cards and eCheck.
Pay by Phone
You can also pay your Fort Bend MUD 2 water bill easily over the phone by calling MDS at (855) 270-3592. The automated system will guide you through the process of entering your account details and making a payment.
The fees for phone payments are:
- $3.50 for credit/debit card payments up to $300
- 2.65% of transaction amount for payments over $300
- $3.50 flat fee for eCheck payments

Both locations are open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. You can pay with check, money order, or cashier’s check. Cash payments are not accepted.
Pay at Retail Locations
For added convenience, you can pay your Fort Bend MUD 2 water bill at local supermarket and retail locations including:
- HEB and Kroger – pay with cash or check (fees up to $1.50 may apply)
- Walmart – pay with cash, credit/debit (fees up to $1.50 may apply)
At these locations, you will need your payment coupon from your monthly bill. Simply present it along with your payment.
Payment Arrangements and Assistance
If you are unable to pay your bill in full, you can contact MDS customer service at (281) 290-6507 to set up a payment plan. They will work with you on a schedule of partial payments.

Avoid Late Fees and Service Disruption
Your water bill is due by the 4th of each month. A 10% late penalty will be applied to delinquent accounts. If your bill remains unpaid, your water service may eventually be disconnected.
To restore service once disconnected, you must pay the full past due amount as well as a $50 reconnection fee. Avoid these extra costs and inconvenience by paying on time.
Use Auto Pay for Peace of Mind
Never miss a payment and save yourself late fees by enrolling in auto pay through the MDS online portal. This securely and automatically pays your monthly bill from your credit card or bank account.
You can cancel or modify auto pay anytime. Enable text/email reminders so you still know when your bill is being paid.
Review Billing Cycles and Due Dates
Bills are sent out monthly and due on the 4th of the month. However, your specific billing cycle and meter read dates can vary:
- Cycles 1-10 meters read on 15th of month, bills sent on 17th
- Cycles 11-20 meters read on 25th of month, bills sent on 27th
Check your meter read and bill issue dates on your statement. This determines your payment due date.
Check for Leaks to Avoid High Bills
If your usage seems unusually high, check for leaks! Look for wet spots in your yard or dripping faucets. Your meter can also indicate flow when all water in your home is turned off. Address leaks quickly to avoid wasting water and higher bills.
Sign Up for E-Billing and Alerts
Reduce clutter and never misplace your water bill again by going paperless. Set up e-billing through the MDS customer portal to receive bills via email. You can also enroll in text/email reminders for due dates and past due notices.
