Paying bills can be a tedious task. As a person who lives in Texas, I’m always looking for easy ways to pay my bills like my phone, electricity, and more. Many HEB stores have places to pay your bills, which makes it easy for people like me to pay my bills while I shop for groceries.
In this article, I’ll provide an overview of HEB’s bill pay hours and locations. Whether you prefer to pay bills in-person or want to understand the online bill options, this guide has you covered!
Store Hours for Bill Payments
HEB has over 340 stores in Texas and Mexico. Most locations with a financial services desk offer in-store bill payments.
Bill pay services are available whenever the financial services desk is open
- Monday to Friday: 9 AM to 7 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM to 5 PM
- Sunday: 11 AM to 5 PM
I like stopping by my local HEB to pay bills early in the morning or on weekends when the stores tend to be less crowded. There’s nothing worse than having to wait in a long customer service line when you’re in a rush!
During holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, store hours may be reduced. Some locations are open 24 hours – be sure to check your store’s hours before heading over to pay bills after regular hours.

Pay Bills Online Through HEB
In addition to in-store payments, HEB also lets you pay bills online through their partnership with doxo.
To sign up for HEB online bill pay, just go to www.heb.com and click on “Bill Pay” at the top of the page. You’ll be redirected to doxo where you can set up an account and add billers.
Once your billers are set up, you can schedule one-time or recurring payments to over 45,000 national and local businesses. Payments can be made from a bank account, debit card, or credit card.
The great thing about HEB online bill pay is that all your bills and payment history are stored in one convenient place. You can log into your doxo account anytime to view bill due dates or make a payment.
I like using the online option to schedule automatic recurring payments. This way, I don’t have to worry about logging in to pay the same bills every month. doxo automatically pulls my payments on the scheduled date.
One thing to note is that HEB does charge a $1.99 service fee per transaction for online bill payments. So it’s a little more expensive than paying in the store. But the convenience may be worth it if you’re someone who hates waiting in lines!
What Payment Methods Are Accepted?
If you pay your bills at the HEB service desk, you can make payments by:
- Cash
- Personal check
- Money order
- Traveler’s check
- Pin-based debit cards
HEB store associates can walk you through which payment methods work best for the company you are paying.
For example, some billers accept cash payments up to a certain amount (e.g. $500 cash max). For larger amounts, they may require a money order or pin-based debit purchase.
If paying online through doxo, you can use a debit card, credit card, or bank account linked to your digital wallet. Make sure you have the necessary account funds before scheduling a payment.
I recommend keeping small bills like utilities in cash so you always have it on hand for a quick service desk payment. Larger bills can be conveniently paid by debit card or automatic bank draft online.
Avoid Late Fees with Same Day Payments
My favorite thing about HEB bill payments is that most bills process the same day when made before the cutoff time. This ensures my payment is received on time, avoiding any annoying late fees.
The cutoff time depends on the biller but is usually between 5-8 PM. As long as you pay before cutoff, your electric company or mortgage servicer will receive the payment that same evening.
With the automatic bank draft payments through doxo, you can schedule the payment date as far as 30 days in advance. Just pick a date before the due date so the funds are withdrawn and sent to the biller on time.
Late fees are the worst, so I love that HEB bill pay allows me to handle a payment the day it’s due if needed. The convenience and same-day processing gives me peace of mind.
Get Rewarded with Loyalty Points!
This is one of the best perks of paying bills at HEB – you earn loyalty points! Most bill payments qualify for Go Rewards points when using an HEB debit or credit card.
You earn 1 point for every $1 spent. These rewards points add up over time and can be used for money off groceries or fuel discounts.
Between earning gas savings and taking care of bills on my regular shopping trips, HEB bill pay makes my errands much simpler. It lets me cross things off my to-do list in one convenient stop.
So don’t miss out on rewards! Always use your HEB debit or credit card when paying bills in-store.
Convenient Bill Management for Texans
No matter how you prefer to pay your bills, HEB has you covered. With over 300 locations across Texas, financial services desks make bill payment quick and easy for customers.
I love the convenience of knocking out my monthly bills during a single trip to the store. HEB’s same-day processing also ensures on-time payments and avoids late fees, giving me confidence and peace of mind.
And by using my HEB rewards card and earning loyalty points, it feels good to get something back!
