The county’s water and sewer services are managed by two authorities – the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) and the Mobile County Water, Sewer and Fire Protection Authority Depending on where you live in the county, your water bill will be handled by one of these two organizations. Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS)
If you live in the city limits of Mobile or Prichard, your water service is provided by MAWSS. Here are the different ways you can pay your MAWSS water bill:
Pay Online
The easiest and most convenient way to pay your MAWSS bill is through their online payment portal. You can pay using a checking/savings account, credit card or debit card. MAWSS also offers recurring payments so you can set up automatic monthly payments.
To pay online, go to MAWSS.org and click on “Pay Bill” in the upper right corner. You’ll need to enter your 10-digit account number and the amount due. The online payment portal accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Pay by Phone
If you prefer to pay your water bill over the phone, MAWSS has a dedicated payment line at 251-694-3164. Keep in mind there is a $2.95 service fee for phone payments. You can pay using automated system with a credit/debit card or speak with a customer service agent.
Pay by Mail
To pay your MAWSS bill by mail, send your payment to:

On the check or money order, make sure to write down your 10-digit account number. Allow 5-7 business days for mailed payments to process.
Pay in Person
MAWSS has a customer service lobby located at 4725 Moffett Road in Mobile. You can pay your water bill here in person using cash, check, money order or credit/debit card.
The MAWSS lobby is open Monday-Friday from 8AM to 4:30PM. There are also payment kiosks available 24/7.
MAWSS also has payment centers located inside the Bel Air Mall and Spanish Fort Town Center where you can pay your bill in person.
Emergency After Hours Payments
If you need to make an emergency payment after normal business hours, you can call MAWSS at 251-694-3165 and pay over the phone. Keep in mind there is a $10 service charge for after hours payments.
Mobile County Water Authority
For those living outside the Mobile city limits in the unincorporated parts of Mobile County, your water service is provided by the Mobile County Water Authority. Here’s how to pay your bill:
Pay Online
To pay your Mobile County water bill online, go to mocowater.org and click on the “Pay Your Bill” link. You’ll need to enter your account number and the amount due. The online payment system accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards.
Pay by Phone
You can pay your Mobile County water bill by calling 251-653-7346. Have your account information and credit/debit card ready when you call.
Pay by Mail
To pay your Mobile County water bill by mail, send a check or money order payable to:
