Prepaid Billing
With WREA’s Prepaid Metering program, you pay ahead of time for electric service instead of receiving a monthly bill.
It works similarly to a prepaid cell phone plan. As you use electricity, your credit balance declines. When the balance reaches $25, you’ll be notified to make another payment.
Prepaid billing allows you to closely monitor daily electric usage and avoid security deposits. Payments can be made at any time online, by phone or at the WREA offices.
Payment Assistance Programs
If you are having trouble paying your electric bill, WREA offers several assistance programs, including:
- Deferred payment arrangements
- Low-income home energy assistance grants
- EAF/CARES bill credit
- Budget billing to even out seasonal spikes
Contact WREA early if you are struggling to pay your bill to discuss available solutions. Disconnection can occur for accounts more than 45 days past due. Avoid late fees and keep your lights on by paying your WREA bill conveniently online, by phone, mail or in person.
