Paying Your City of Laredo Utility Bill Online is Easy

Living in Laredo, I’ve always dreaded getting my monthly City utility bill Writing and mailing checks to pay bills is such a hassle. But fortunately, the City recently launched a new online bill payment system that makes paying fast and convenient In this article, I’ll walk through how to use the City of Laredo’s Click2Gov online portal to view and pay your utility bill.

Overview of Laredo’s Online Bill Pay

The City of Laredo uses a platform called Click2Gov for online utility bill payment With Click2Gov, residents can view their account balance, payment history, and make secure online payments.

To access the Click2Gov payment portal, go to lare-egov.aspgov.com/Click2GovCX. You can also find a link to it on the City’s utility billing page.

Through Click2Gov, Laredo residents can pay the following utility bills:

  • Water
  • Sewer
  • Garbage collection
  • Stormwater

You have the option to make one-time payments as a guest. But setting up an account allows you to store payment methods, view past bills, and set up autopay.

Creating a Click2Gov Account

Signing up for a Click2Gov account takes less than 5 minutes. Just have your utility account number ready.

First, click “New User” on the Click2Gov homepage. Then enter your utility account number exactly as it appears on your paper bill.

Next, you’ll enter some basic personal info – name, address, email, etc. Be sure everything matches what’s listed on your utility account.

Finally, create a username and password. Make your password unique and secure.

Once registered, you can start using your account immediately to view and pay bills.

Making One-Time Payments

If you just need to make a single bill payment, you can do so as a guest without an account.

On the homepage, click “One Time Payment.” Enter your utility account number.

You’ll see your current balance. Enter the payment amount and complete the checkout process.

Payments can be made by credit card, debit card, or e-check. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express are accepted.

When paying as a guest, be sure to save or print the payment confirmation page.

Viewing Statements in Your Account

One major perk of having a Click2Gov account is being able to view past statements.

To see statements:

  1. Log in to Click2Gov
  2. Click “View bills”
  3. Select the statement you wish to view

You’ll see the statement period, previous balance, payments made, water usage, and new charges. Very handy for verifying billing accuracy.

Statements go back 18 months, so you can view over a year’s worth of billing history.

Making Payments from Your Account

Once logged into your Click2Gov account, making a payment only takes a few clicks.

On the homepage, click “Make Payment.” Select whether you want to pay the full balance or a custom amount.

Saved payment methods will appear if you’ve entered them previously. Or enter a new card or bank account.

Review the payment info and complete the transaction. That’s all there is to it!

With an account, you also have the option to set up recurring autopay.

Setting Up Automatic Payments

The most convenient way to pay Laredo utility bills is to enable automatic payments in Click2Gov.

Here’s how to set up autopay:

  1. In your account, click “AutoPay”
  2. Check the terms and conditions box
  3. Choose your payment method
  4. Select the date you want payments processed
  5. Click “Submit”

And you’re done! Your bill will now be paid automatically each month.

To edit or cancel autopay, just go back into the AutoPay menu. Managing automated payments is quick and easy.

Receiving Email Bill Reminders

Along with autopay, another way to avoid late fees is to enable email billing reminders.

In your Click2Gov account, go to “My Profile.” Check the box to opt into email reminders.

You’ll receive an email whenever a new statement is generated. No more forgetting when your bill is due!

Between autopay and reminders, you’ll never miss paying your Laredo utility bill on time again.
