Pay by Phone
If you prefer to talk to a real person, you can pay your MDC bill easily over the phone using the automated payment system. Just call 860-278-7850 and follow the prompts to make a payment using your credit card, debit card or bank account.
I really only use this method as a backup if I’m in a time crunch and need to pay my bill at the last minute. But it’s nice having the option to call in a payment quickly.
Pay at a Retail Location
For cash payments, you can now pay your MDC bill at select retail stores including CVS, Dollar General, Family Dollar and 7-Eleven. Just use the MDC website to generate a QR code, bring it to the store, and pay your bill with cash.
This provides another way to pay in person if you prefer cash or don’t have a bank account. And it saves you a trip to the MDC office.
Mail In a Payment
If you prefer the old school method of mailing checks, you can certainly still pay your MDC bill through the postal mail. Just send your check or money order to the payment address printed on your bill.
Just make sure to mail your payment several days before the due date to ensure it arrives on time. Otherwise, you may incur late fees.
Drop Off Payment at a MDC Office
You can also drop off MDC bill payments in person at either of their Hartford office locations. They have secure payment drop boxes available 24/7. This is helpful if you want to hand deliver a payment.
