To pay utility bills like electric, water, and sewer, you’ll access the online payment portal through Wellesley Municipal Light Plant (WMLP) at wmlp.com.
You can check your balances, look at old statements, set up automatic payments, and make one-time payments at any time on both sites.
Paying Taxes and Municipal Bills

1. Visit the Payment Portal
Go to the Online Payments page on wellesleyma.gov and click the “Online Bill Pay” button. This will redirect you to the secure Municipal Payments portal.
2. Select Bill Type

3. Select Account
Choose the utility account you want to make a payment for.
4. Enter Payment Details
Select a payment method like credit/debit card or e-check and enter the account number. Pick one-time or recurring payment.

Online Payments from your financial institution
Please be aware that if you are using online bill payment that your bank or bill paying company may mail us a paper check instead of transferring the money to us electronically. There will be no remittance slip returned along with the payment so your Town of Wellesley Utility account number must appear on the check. Your account number is sixteen (16) digits long beginning with 63-. If the complete account number is not on your check a delay in processing may result.
To expedite processing of your payment, please direct your bank to send your payment directly to 4 Municipal Way, Wellesley, 02481 instead of to our post office box. Please allow for the days your institution tells you to for processing. All payment processing inquiries should be directed to your financial institution.
Payments are accepted at 4 Municipal Way during normal business hours. There is also a mail slot next to our front door to drop payments after business hours.
Make a payment by returning the remittance slip along with a check or money order using the return envelope that is enclosed with your bill. These payments are sent directly to the bank for processing.
