Wilson County Water also offers an automated phone payment system. To pay by phone, dial (252) 399-2845. The system is available 24/7.

When prompted, enter your 10-digit account number and the payment amount due. You can then choose to make a one-time payment or set up recurring payments.

The phone system accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover or electronic check. A convenience fee of $1.95 is charged per phone transaction.

After entering your payment info, your transaction will be processed automatically. You’ll receive a confirmation number at the end of the call.

Paying In-Person

For those who prefer to pay their bills in-person, you can stop by the Wilson County Water office during business hours:

Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

When paying in-person, you’ll need to bring your current water bill which shows the amount due. Cash, check, money order or credit/debit cards are accepted.

A drop box is also available outside the Wilson County Water office for after-hours bill payment drop off. Do not deposit cash in the drop box.

Paying by Mail

If you want to mail in your payment, you can send a check or money order payable to:

Please include your 10-digit account number on the check or money order. Allow 5-7 business days for mailed payments to reach the water department and be applied to your account.

Auto-Draft Payments

For the most convenient hands-off payment option, sign up for auto-draft payments. This automatically withdraws your water bill from your checking or savings account each month.

To start auto-draft payments, print and complete the auto-draft form available on the Wilson County Water website. Mail the filled out form along with a voided check to the address on the form.

Once your form is processed, your monthly bill amount will be drafted from your bank account on the due date. You’ll still receive a monthly bill for your records. Auto-draft prevents you from ever missing a payment!

Due Dates and Late Fees

Water bills in Wilson County are issued monthly and are typically due around the 10th of each month. The exact due date is printed on your bill.

If your payment is received after the due date, you will incur the following late fees:

  • 1% late fee assessed at 30 days past due
  • Additional $5 late fee assessed at 60 days past due
  • Service subject to disconnection at 90 days past due

You’ll need to provide your name, new service address, requested start date and contact information. A $75 deposit is required to activate service at a new location.

Make sure to transfer or close your existing service 2-3 days before your move. Provide the water department your forwarding address for your final bill.
